Trenton, Orlando in winning deal

It was a day at the office for business partners and golfers Trenton Weekes and Orlando Crichlow.
They teamed up to win the Old-9 Trophy at Sandy Lane Sunday with a score of 57 Nett.
Weekes and Crichlow combined for a Gross 70 or two under par with scores of 35 on the front and back nines.

It called for excellent team work and the business partners were up to the task.
Four birdies, a pair on either side of the 18 holes, 12 pars and two bogies left them three Nett better than Julia Stephenson, the Barbados player, and grandson Ajahni Stephenson, the baby of the tournament at age eight.

Ajahni signaled his potential as a future player in his first tournament and was awarded a special prize by the President of the Barbados Golf Association (BGA) Birchmore Griffith.
With less than a year of training from local professional Franklyn Stephenson, Ajahni teamed up with his grandmother for a Nett 60 and second place in the Two Ball Scramble format where each partner needed six chosen drives to finish.

The Rockley Club husband and wife pair of Gail and David Fields combined for a Nett 61 to be third.
The Sandy Lane Old Nine course was in excellent condition and a handy line-up of partners competed in the BGA-sponsored event.
