Mirjah, Linton win at golf

Golfers Lennox Mirjah and Harriet Linton teamed up to ensure that the New Year Hamper was won by a Rockley pair.
They accumulated 52 strokes at Rockley to defeat Lynn De Cambra McCleod and Kaye Flynn by the narrow margin of point five.
The New Year Hamper was the first event organised by the Barbados Golf Association for 2010 and was played under the two-ball Scramble format.
Jim and Linda Henderson were third, losing on the countback with 52.5 strokes.
For young Ajani Stephenson who came sixth with Julia Stephenson it was another opportunity to exhibit his promise.
Judd Cozier and Brian Foster were fourth with 53 combined strokes. The top 10 teams won hampers in what is an event sponsored by the association to thank members for their support in the previous year.
