Olympic Day 2014 which was hosted by the B.O.A. on 22nd June 2014, recorded their 1st participation of golfing activities through the attendanace of the B.G.A. and B.G.C. Each sporting discipline was required to enter a team of 10 (comprising of 6 males and 4 females)
The B.G.A./B.G.C. were ably represented by; Cally Boyea (President), David Estwick, Bobby Edghill (Pro. golfer), Susan Boyea, Tomi-Ann Grant (junior), Allison Rimple (Bunker Babe), Alex Jordan, Shawn Kinch and Harriet Linton.
The B.G.A./B.G.C. team participated in the various events such as Lime and Spoon race, Cross Fit Obstacle, Relay and Bucket Brigade Relay among others.
However it was the S.N.A.G. (Starting New At Golf) Programme which drew the crowds to the B.G.A./B.G.C. tent. Here demonstrations were done by Bobby and Harriet. Contact with persons from the other sporting disciplines were made. Many of them showed a greater appreciation and desire to further their golf.
We look forward to the future with great anticipation of recruiting new members as we take the S.N.A.G. programme to other sporting arenas.
My sincere thanks to Bobby Edghill.
(Committee Member of B.G.A. and B.G.C.)
