Day 2 was another cold, grey day, Emily Odwin brought some Bajan sunshine with her to the Lima Golf Club. She scored a 2 over par 73 (34 + 39) and moved up 5 positions on the leaderboard. She is placed 25th with two more rounds to play. The highlight of Emily's round was when she holed out with her second shot at the par 4, 8th hole! Of course, these games are the toughest test that the 15 year old teenager has faced in her short career, but she is giving notice that she can compete at this very high level. She is embracing and learning from every moment of this experience. I look forward to more Bajan sunshine from Emily tomorrow and Sunday.
Emily once again played really well. She was 1 under through 12 holes, but then she had 4 consecutive bogeys and 2 pars to complete her final round. Her score of 74 pushed her up 2 places to finish in 26th place. Her 4 rounds were 80+73+78+74 = 305 on the par 71 course at Lima Golf Club.
The real significance is that she showed that she can compete at this level at her age. The winner is ranked 8th in the world by WAGR and the runner-up has won on the LPGA Tour! Emily did not lack length and certainly looked the part.
