Sandy Lane Country Club, Barbados
English-born golfer Alexander Sandeman, a pro golfer who now resides in Barbados, is now the new holder of the Guinness World Record for “The Most Birdies in 12 Hours”. He made 93 birdies in 12 hours, playing 206 holes on the Sandy Lanes Country Club golf course. The old record was held by Geno Bonnalie with 67 Birdies.
In addition to breaking the Guinness World Record, Sandeman’s efforts has also help to raise funds for The Barbados Children’s Trust, which benefits the Nightengale Complex at Black Rock. The Trust created a Children’s Village where every child under the age of 12 living in residential care will be raised in a caring and stable community.
“Sandy Lane and the Country Club Course are very pleased to be a part of Mr. Sandeman’s Guinness World Record,” said Sandy Lane General Manager Randall Wilkie.
“But most importantly, we are thrilled that he chose to use this opportunity to give back to the children of Barbados through the Barbados Children’s Trust.
The whole record event was supervised and verified by the Barbados Golf Association, the registered affiliate of the USPGA and R & A, the sole administrator of the Rules of Golf in the world.
