The Hoerman Cup - Men's first division.
Another solid performance during day 2 by Barbados top golfer and team Captain, James Johnson. Johnson scored another 74 (+2) and are currently tied 3rd in the table, 4 strokes behind the leader Jonathan Newnham, Jamaica. Not far behind is Julian Jordan who had a 76 (+4), tied 11th in the table. Other results, Scott Stollmeyer, 78 (+6) T20, Roger Bastic, 79 (+7) T23 and Donald Leacock. 82 (+10) T34. The Barbados team is currently ranked 4th in the Hoerman Cup on +42, 16 behind the leader Jamaica.
The George Teale Memorial Trophy - Women's division.
The 2nd day showed improved scores from all the Barbados women golfers in the George Teale Memorial Trophy.
Lynn DeCambra-McLeod had the best score of the day within the team, posting an 85 (+13), 12 shots better than the first day score.
Julia Stephenson posted an 87 (+15) and Leisa Munn-Blakely had an 88 (+16). In total the team came in 21 shots better than the first day and are now taking up the fight with the Cayman Islands to avoid last place in the division. The team is now only 3 shots behind.
Ramon Baez Trophy - Mid Amateur
Carlsen Leacock and Elvis Medford are pushing to win the Ramon Baez Trophy - Mid Amateur division. The second day saw some very good golf from the Barbados team, posting 7 birdies and looking to be on top of the table until an very unfortunate double bogey on the last hole reduced the score to a 70 (-2). The Barbados team had the only score under par during the day and finished 2nd only 2 shots behind the leader Dominican Republic.
Francis & Steele-Perkins Trophy - Seniors
Robert Piggot and Michael Haynes did not have the same sparkling round of golf as during the first day. However the Barbados team did dig in when the golf was getting tough and managed to get a 73 (+1) by collecting 2 birdies on the last 5 holes. Robert and Michael are well positioned at the 2nd spot only 2 shots behind the leader Trinidad & Tobago in a division that look very tight with 8 teams within 9 shots.
Higgs & Higgs Trophy - Super Seniors
The Barbados Super Senior team, Cally Boyea and Bitchmore Griffith will be looking forward to todays play as they ended on a high with 3 birdies on the last 3 holes. The team posted a 79 (+7) on the day and are 9 shots clear from the bottom and with good chances to climb in the table.
