Fourth term for Griffith as BGA President

Members of the golfing fraternity apparently have no qualms with a leader enjoying  more than three terms in office. Businessman Birchmore Griffith was returned as President for a fourth consecutive term following recent general elections, by members of the Barbados Golf Association (BGA).

This will be Griffith’s fourth consecutive two-year term. He was elected unanimously in elections handled efficiently by lawyer Jimmy Serrao.
There were two changes : floor member Orlando Crichlow was elected Treasurer, replacing Horrace Burton, who did not seek re-election after two terms, while banker Frank Drakes was elected a committee member, filling the position vacated by Crichlow.

Other members of the BGA executive are Trevor Tasker, Vice President, Trenton Weekes, Secretary, and James Johnson, committee member.
The elections were held last Friday. The committee will serve for two years, but the term of the ordinary members is one year.
