Leacock wins Rockley Cup
Carlsen Leacock enjoyed the ideal weekend conditions to upstage Judd Cozier in the Barbados Golf Association (BGA) – sponsored Rockley Cup.
Leacock had to curb his appetite for a full swing at the tight, 5610-yard course, to compile a winning 71 shots in the Gross division.
Briton Dave Walker was in excellent form, winning in the very competitive Nett category with 64.
The 58 entries, who included Caribbean Seniors champion Ricky Skeete, comprised a well-represented contingent of Rockley players.
Leacock, the evergreen Hoerman Cup player, won by two shots from teenager Dane DaSilva and three from Rockley Open Champion Judd Cozier, for whom Rockey is weekly stomping ground.
Walker beat out the in-form David Fields, who is often upstaged by his wife, Gail, by a solitary stroke. Fields had to win from Barbados Community College student Philip Weekes on the countback with a Nett 65.
